Flint Resident Arrested for Distribution and Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material

FLINT, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Aaron Thomas Torpey, 38 of Flint, for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and child sexually abusive activity – distributing or promoting
Torpey surrendered himself to the court following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Torpey accessed files of child sexually abusive material on the Internet.
Following the search warrant to his residence, Torpey was charged with one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of child sexually abusive activity – distributing or promoting. Torpey was arraigned in 67th District Court on October 13, 2021.
